As per The News, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has given the nod for the construction of the new players. The venue will be the second group in Islamabad, and a promise for a state of the art facilities have been made.

According to the details, the prime minister Imran Khan gave in-principle approval for the construction of a cricket stadium in Islamabad and directed the PCB chairman to utilise all the resources to complete its construction as soon as possible.

When approached, Ramiz Raja said the efforts would be maximized to complete the construction of the stadium by 2025, enabling Pakistan to organise Champions Trophy matches at the newly-constructed venue. The tournament will mark the return of an ICC event to Pakistan for the first time since the after the 1996 World Cup. Pakistan had registered a joint bid for the 2011 World Cup, but lost the hosting rights due to secutiry concerns.

Meanwhile, PCB are preparing for contingencies with the rising COVID-19 Omicron cases around the globe in the build-up to the PSL 2022. The PCB is mulling over the decision to make foreign cricketers quarantine longer than local players. It is reported that the league has decided to hire a foreign firm to manage the bio-secure bubble while an announcement has already been made to book a hotel completely for the players and officials. Strict action will be taken against any player or official who is found violating the rules of the bio-secure bubble
