Priyansh Arya repeats his idol Virat Kohli’s unique feat & smashes 19-ball milestone in PBKS vs CSK IPL 2025 match

The Punjab Kings (PBKS) splashed ₹3.80 crore to buy Priyansh Arya at the IPL 2025 mega auction.

One of the many aspiring cricketers from Delhi is now getting to enjoy the razzmatazz of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Yes, we are taking about Priyansh Arya, the new sensation of the IPL 2025. Taking the opening duties for the Punjab Kings (PBKS), Arya has now earned himself on a list that has just four players in IPL history!

Special feat by Arya

After Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat first, Arya did something incredible. Khaleel Ahmed, the new ball bowler for CSK, gave ample width to Arya, who didn’t need any sighters to smash the ball out of the park. In doing so, Arya became only the fourth-ever player to smash a six off the very first ball of an IPL match.

Naman Ojha (vs KKR, 2009), Virat Kohli (vs RR, 2019), and Phil Salt (vs MI, 2024) were the first three ones. Arya, meanwhile, has become the first left-handed batter to complete the incredible feat.

19-ball 50 by PBKS opener

It seemed a clash between Priyansh Arya vs CSK and not PBKS vs CSK. The flamboyant opener was a shining light in what was otherwise a poor batting show by the hosts.

Arya, but, maximized the powerplay, single-handedly taking PBKS to 75 in the first six over. Arya got his maiden IPL fifty in just 19 balls, the second fastest of IPL 2025.
