Prithvi Shaw: After getting a clean chit in the Sapna Gill case, Prithvi Shaw is making headlines yet again, but this time for all the right reasons. The right-hand batter posted two Instagram stories, along with his alleged girlfriend Nidhhi Tapadiaa. In the first story, Shaw hinted a starting a fresh chapter by using a powerful quote, while in the second the 22-year-old posted two beautiful pictures of flowers and tagged Tapadiaa.
By the looks of the two Instagram stories, it seems Shaw is ready to move on to the next chapter. For the uninitiated, the Mumbai batter was snubbed from the T20 side for the West Indies tour. The Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel placed bets on Tilak Varma and Yashaswi Jaiswal instead. After being overlooked for the Caribbean tour, Shaw has signed a County deal with Northamptonshire.

After the conclusion of Duleep Trophy, Shaw will travel to London to play the remaining season of County Cricket. Once looked at as generational talent, the 22-year-old has fallen off the radar of the selectors due to his poor form and disciplinary issues. Shaw also had a poor IPL 2023 season for Delhi Capitals (DC), managing to score just 106 runs in eight games.
With India playing Asian Games after the conclusion of the Caribbean tour and Asia Cup 2023, Shaw will target to make a comeback in the Indian squad.
With BCCI sending a second-string team for Asian Games, Shaw County’s stint with Northamptonshire would play a pivotal role in his being selected for the Continental Games set to be held in China. Shaw has slightly gone the pecking order after making his debut in 2020, but with the right-hand batter starting a fresh start, he is eyeing redemption and a permanent place in the Indian team.
