Predicted LSG playing XI vs PBKS: All eyes on sub-par Rs 27 cr Pant, can they take home advantage?

LSG are likely to play their first home game against Punjab Kings with an unchanged playing XI

Lucknow Super Giants will be playing their first home game in IPL 2025 as they take on Punjab Kings on Tuesday. Rishabh Pant’s LSG returned to winning ways in the last game, beating SRH at their home ground after losing their IPL 2025 opener to DC. While Markram and Pooran have done the heavy-lifting for LSG so far, all eyes will be on captain Pant, who is yet to start firing in the tournament.

Pant needs to start firing

LSG captain Pant has been poor so far in IPL 2025. He has only managed to score a six-ball duck and nearly a run-a-ball 15 in the last two games. He needs to pull his socks up, considering that this will be the first time he will be playing at the Ekana as LSG captain.

Marsh and Markram have delivered at the top of the order consistently. Pooran has time and again proved his worth as LSG’s highest retained player. He has already smashed the fastest half-century of IPL 2025.

Thakur to lead bowling attack

Shardul Thakur will be hoping to replicate his heroics from the game against SRH in Lucknow. He has turned out to be a gem for LSG whose pace attack is otherwise riddled with injuries and inexperience. Thakur will be supported by pacers Digvesh Rathi and Avesh Khan. Prince Yadav is likely to play as the impact substitute.
