Praying for 6th IPL title? CSK Captain MS Dhoni spotted at Deori Maa Temple

MS Dhoni is likely to play his last IPL in 2024

Amidst ongoing speculation about his future with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), MS Dhoni, the former India captain, recently visited the tranquil Deori Maa Temple near Ranchi in Jharkhand, India.

Dhoni, carrying coconut ‘prasad’ and ‘chunari’ as offerings for Maa Durga, was greeted by surprised fans at the temple, who eagerly took selfies with him. Known for his spiritual inclinations, Dhoni has been a frequent visitor to this temple, seeking blessings before the commencement of each IPL season.

Despite retiring from all formats of international cricket in 2019, the 42-year-old Dhoni remains actively involved in competitive cricket, leading the CSK team as its captain. Speculation arose last season regarding Dhoni’s retirement from the IPL, but despite guiding CSK to their 5th IPL title, he refrained from making any retirement announcements, assuring fans of his participation in the upcoming season.

As preparations gear up for the league commencing in late March, many experts anticipate Dhoni’s retirement announcement at the conclusion of this season. While Dhoni has withdrawn from other forms of cricket, his prowess in wicketkeeping, captaincy, and batting remains unmatched.
