Mendes’ set on the first day of the two-day music extravaganza, known for featuring an eclectic mix of global artists, was the perfect finale on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at South Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse.
Starting his performance at around 8:30 pm, the Canadian singer initially donned a casual T-shirt and pants, before quickly switching to the Indian cricket team’s blue jersey, emblazoned with ‘Virat’ and the number ’18’ as a tribute to the famed cricketer. This gesture sparked excitement among the crowd, who chanted “Kohli…Kohli…Kohli” in unison.
Amid the enthusiastic cheers from fans, Mendes wished the Indian team good luck for their match, saying, “India, I know you have a match tomorrow. Good luck. I hope it goes well.”
