Pop star Shawn Mendes wishes luck to team India ahead of the Champions Trophy final

Amid the enthusiastic cheers from fans, Mendes wished the Indian team good luck for their match, saying, "India, I know you have a match tomorrow. Good luck. I hope it goes well."

International pop sensation Shawn Mendes enthralled music enthusiasts at the Lollapalooza India 2025 music festival with a dynamic performance and showed his support for the men’s Indian cricket team ahead of their ICC Men’s Champions Trophy final against New Zealand. Mendes’ set on the first day of the two-day music extravaganza, known for featuring an eclectic mix of global artists, was the perfect finale on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at South Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse.

Starting his performance at around 8:30 pm, the Canadian singer initially donned a casual T-shirt and pants, before quickly switching to the Indian cricket team’s blue jersey, emblazoned with ‘Virat’ and the number ’18’ as a tribute to the famed cricketer. This gesture sparked excitement among the crowd, who chanted “Kohli…Kohli…Kohli” in unison.

Amid the enthusiastic cheers from fans, Mendes wished the Indian team good luck for their match, saying, “India, I know you have a match tomorrow. Good luck. I hope it goes well.”

IND vs NZ Champions Trophy final

The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 final between India and New Zealand will be held at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, March 9, 2025. Both sides have already met once in the tournament, with the Men in Blue coming out on top in the group stages. Rohit Sharma and Co. will be looking to emulate their performance in the upcoming game as well.
