‘Plastic King’ Fans mock Babar Azam after back to back failures in World Cup

Babar Azam was scalped by Dilshan Madhushanka during PAK vs SL World Cup match in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Pakistani skipper Babar Azam had another poor outing in the World Cup. Coming out to bat against Sri Lanka in Hyderabad, the right-handed batter was strangled behind the wickets as Madhushanka grabbed his wicket. Meanwhile, the fans on social media took a dig at Babar Azam for getting out cheaply once again in the World Cup.

Coming out to bat after the fall of Imam-ul-Haq, Babar looked in good touch as he smashed a boundary to open his account. However, the batter might be considering himself a bit unlucky after being caught on a delivery that he should had left alone. As a result, the Pakistani skipper had to walk back to the pavilion without causing too much trouble for the Sri Lankan team.

Earlier against the Netherlands, Babar Azam failed to get going as spinner Colin Ackermann got the better of him. Despite his poor runs in the main event, the Pakistani skipper was in supreme touch during the warm-ups. Against Australia in practice match, Babar smashed a quickfire fifty before getting retired. However, the batter has failed to replicate his form in the main showpiece event so far.
