What exactly happened? – In the first over of the match Bhuvneshwar Kumar came up with the goods and on the fourth ball the unfortunate moment took place. Bhuvneshwar shortened the length as Dhawan ran down the pitch and was looking to flick but got an inside edge onto the inside part of the thigh.
Dhawan was down and looking lost, as he was struck close to the box and which is always painful while the physios rushed to work their magic. A pretty lengthy break was offered before the play resumed.

Dhawan falls short of landmark 6000 runs – The incident also meant that Shikhar Dhawan missed on the opportunity to score 6000 Indian Premier League (IPL) runs while he could have joined Virat Kohli. The PBKS stand-in skipper was dismissed for eight of 11 deliveries before departing and will have to wait for another day to achieve the landmark to join Kohli.
