Pat Cummins will earn Rs 25 lakh per over after winning historic Rs 20.50 crore bid at IPL 2024 Auction

IPL 2024 Auction: Pat Cummins will make Rs 4 lakh per delivery in the Indian Premier League next year after winning a historic bid of Rs 20.50 crore from Surisers Hyderabad

Pat Cummins was obviously “pumped” after securing a historic Rs 20.50 crore bid at the IPL 2024 Auction in Dubai on Tuesday. Cummins, who has an average record with the ball and poor numbers with the bat in the Indian Premier League, shattered all previous records after Sunrisers Hyderabad won an intense bidding war.

Pat Cummins’s expensive bid was perhaps fueled by the fact that he ticked all the boxes as Australia captain in 2023. This year, Cummins helped Australia win the World Test Championship, defend the Ashes successfully in England and then won the 2023 Cricket World Cup after being at the bottom of the points table at one stage.

If you are still gasping for breath and scracthing your head at the figures, here’s a further lowdown to look at: Pat Cummins will make rs 1 crore per game, Rs 25 lakh per over and Rs 4 lakh per delivery. That is provided he plays all the matches and bowls 4 overs in all those games, of course!

“Pumped to be joining SRH for the upcoming IPL. Have heard a lot about the Orange Army. I have played in Hyderabad a few times, so I can’t wait to get started. It’s great to see another Aussie in Travis Head over there as well. I think we are going to have a lot of fun this season and hopefully plenty of success,” Pat Cummins said via a video uploaded by SRH after making history at the auction.

Pat Cummins IPL and T20 stats

Pat Cummins has played 42 IPL games so far and has 45 wickets to his name and averages 30.16. The former KKR star made his debut in 2014 and last played in 2022. In the international circuit, Cummins has bagged 55 wickets from 50 games and averages 24.55.

“Very few captains in international cricket who can compare with him. WTC winner, Ashes away from home and the ODI World Cup. He already has a good relationship with the coach Daniel Vettori”, former KKR skipper Eoin Morgan explained as to how Cummins could benefit from being at SRH.
