PAK vs WI: Spinners take all 20 wickets to help Pakistan win against Carrabians in Multan Test

Pakistan's spinners dominated the first Test in Multan, with Sajid Khan, Abrar Ahmed, and Noman Ali taking all 20 wickets to secure a 127-run victory.

In the first Test match between Pakistan and the West Indies in Multan, Pakistan won by 127 runs. This victory was largely due to their excellent spin bowlers, Sajid Khan, Abrar Ahmed and Noman Ali. These spinners were outstanding and took all 20 wickets in the match, making full use of the spin-friendly conditions.

First Innings: setting the stage

Pakistan did not start well in their first innings and were struggling at 46/4. However, with important contributions from Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 71, and Saud Shakeel, who made 84, they managed to reach a total of 230. When the West Indies came to bat, Sajid Khan started strong and tore through their top order. He took 4 wickets, while Noman Ali took 5 wickets. Due to this spin duo’s efforts, the West Indies were all out for just 137, giving Pakistan a vital lead.

Pakistan’s Spin stranglehold

In Pakistan’s second innings, the top-order batsmen started well, especially Shan Masood, who scored 52. But then, West Indies’ spinner Jomel Warrican took center stage with 7 wickets, resulting in Pakistan getting all out for 157. This meant West Indies had to chase a target of 251 runs, which was challenging on a pitch where the ball was spinning a lot.

Decisive Turn: West Indies’ Collapse

When West Indies began their chase, Sajid Khan continued his great performance by taking 5 more wickets in their second innings. Noman Ali also got important breakthroughs. Alick Athanaze tried to hold on with a brave half-century, but it wasn’t enough as his teammates kept losing wickets against the determined bowling of Ali and Sajid. Abrar Ahmed also contributed, making it very tough for the West Indies batsmen.

Reflection on the spinners’ mastery

The match showed Pakistani spinners dominance, especially when playing at home. Sajid Khan ended the game with 9 wickets in total, and Noman Ali took 6 crucial wickets. Together, they dismantled the West Indies batting across both innings. Pakistan’s victory highlighted their spinners’ ability to take control and dictate the game, which is a major advantage on their home ground in Multan. With a 1-0 lead in the series, Pakistan will aim to continue this form, clearly led by their talented spinners.
