Abdul Rehman is a well-known talent scout in the northern region of the country. He is a seasoned coach in the domestic system with more than ten years of experience. He is currently serving as an assistant coach with Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League. Also, he assisted the Pakistan Under-19 team when Bangladesh visited Multan in November of last year.

On the other hand, after his retirement, Umar Gul immediately began coaching, holding the position of bowling coach with Quetta Gladiators in the PSL. Last year, he also served as the bowling coach for Afghanistan for a brief period of time before it expired in December.
