Some fierce strokeplay from Matt Henry and Daryl Mitchell saw the hosts taking an unexpected lead on Day 3 before getting all out. Underdogs SriLanka have made a statement on the opening day of 1st Test. With Kusal Mendis (87) and Dimith Karunartane (50) playing terrific knocks, SriLanka ended the day at 305/6. The duo stitched a 137-run partnership on a green Christchurch track to deny any advantage to the home side at the Hagley Oval.
