Shami makes case for World Cup XI with 5-wicket haul

Shardul Thakur was at receiving end of trolls after conceding 78 runs in 10 overs in IND vs AUS 1st ODI in Mohali.

Mohammad Shami has made a strong case for himself ahead of the World Cup 2023. The pacer, who has not been a consistent member in Team India’s XI, picked a 5-wicket haul against Australia in first ODI in Mohali. Notably, Team India is tempted to pick an extra all-rounder to boost their batting but Shami’s spell has shown how Team India needs 3 proper seamers in the XI to challenge opposition batters.

Team India restrict Australia to 276

A five-wicket haul by Mohammed Shami helped Team India to bundle out Australia for 276 in IND vs AUS 1st ODI in Mohali. Being put to bat first, Australia lost opener Mitchell Marsh early but David Warner smashed a half-century and contributions from Josh Inglis (45), Steve Smith (41) and Marnus Labuschagne (39) pushed Australia to 276 in 50 overs.
