T20 World Cup: No chance for Ishan Kishan to be part of Team India, after wicketkeeper batter en route to lose BCCI Central Contract

Tough times lie ahead of Ishan Kishan. After ignoring the BCCI and the advises of head coach Rahul Dravid, it is now time to face the music. As per reports, Ishan Kishan is set to lose out on his BCCI Central Contract 2023-24. This essentially means, irrespective of how he performs in IPL 2024, he won’t be a part of the T20 World Cup.

The Ishan Kishan Saga has been ongoing for far too long. The wicketkeeping batter left the India camp midway into the India tour of South Africa. After his return to the country, he stayed aloof. Neither did he pay any heed to what Rahul Dravid said, nor did he play any Ranji Trophy match for Jharkhand.

Despite repeated requests from Dravid, Agarkar and Jay Shah, Kishan turned a deaf ear to the requests. And now as per reports, there will be consequences. Ishan Kishan won’t be getting a central contract for the upcoming year. In the meantime, Ishan Kishan joined Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya at the Kiran More Academy in Baroda to begin preparations for IPL 2024.

Now if reports are believed to be true, then no matter how well he performs in the IPL 2024, it will be for no avail. Since the player won’t be having a central contract, he won’t be a part of the India squad that will travel to USA for the T20 World Cup.
