The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru will be packed to the brim as World Cup 2023 tickets for non-India matches were sold out. The BCCI and ICC have launched a staggered ticket release, with tickets for non-India matches available. While the excitement for India matches is palpable, tickets for other games were also sold out within 15 minutes as per recent reports. This is despite Indian Cricket Team stars such as Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma not in the mix.

Despite the delay in the launch of World Cup tickets and the change in tournament dates, fans have signed up to pack stadiums in October and November. Tickets for all seven games not featuring the Indian Cricket team have been sold out in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Kolkata has also seen two of their three games sold out within minutes.

“The tickets for the three non-India games at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai – England vs South Africa on October 21, South Africa vs Bangladesh on October 24 and Australia versus Afghanistan on November 7 – were sold out in just 15 minutes,” said a source in the BCCI to the Times of India.

India are hosting its first major tournament since the 2016 T20 World Cup. Tickets for non-India games were available since August 25 but not for long. The Australia vs New Zealand clash at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala is also sold out. Pakistan, who will travel to India for the first time in 7 years, have seen four of their games sold out. A similar response is expected for the India vs Pakistan clash.

Such was the demand that Bookmyshow could not provide a smooth service to the customers. Some of the fans complained that the site crashed while a few of them stated that their device hanged while making the purchase.
