No choppers available: Aaron Finch takes a subtle dig at David Warner ahead of his final BBL match

Earlier, David Warner arrived by helicopter at the famous SCG to play for Sydney Thunder in a BBL match.

Former World Cup-winning Australian captain Aaron Finch announced his retirement from the Big Bash League (BBL) as he is representing Melbourne Renegades for one final time on Saturday. Ahead of his final game, Aaron Finch took an indirect dig at David Warner stating that no choppers were available for him as the veteran was seen walking towards the venue. The video of the same has gone viral on the social media platforms.

Earlier, David Warner arrived by helicopter at the famous SCG to play for Sydney Thunder in a BBL match. The 37-year-old landed in his helicopter on the SCG outfield, having just flown in from attending his brother’s wedding in the Hunter Valley.

Speaking about Aaron Finch’s career in BBL, Finch was the captain of Melbourne Renegades for nine consecutive seasons, between season 2 to 10. He is also the leading scorer for Renegades with 3311* runs and sits behind only Chris Lynn on the Big Bash League’s all-time runs tally.

I haven’t got emotional around any of my retirements, which is quite strange. But maybe tomorrow I will. This has been a huge part of mine and my family’s life for the last 13 years and have put as much time and effort into it as I can and, yeah, it’ll be sad, no doubt. But it’s time to move on and the next generation of players coming through are seriously good. So it’s in good hands,” Finch said ahead of his last game in BBL.
