No backlash: Ruturaj Gaikwad’s IPL captaincy well received, unlike Hardik Pandya

The fans on the social media congratulated Ruturaj Gaikwad for his new role ahead of the IPL 2024.

IPL 2024: Ruturaj Gaikwad will be leading the Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. Gaikwad will be replacing the IPL stalwart MS Dhoni as CSK captain. Unlike Hardik Pandya, who received a lot of flak on the social media after replacing Rohit Sharma as MI captain, Gaikwad was praised on the social media as the fans wished him well for the upcoming edition.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has played 52 IPL matches so far and has scored 1797 runs, with an average of 39.07. He has also slammed a century with 14 half-centuries with his highest IPL score being 101* runs. Ruturaj Gaikwad has hit 159 fours and 73 sixes in his IPL career so far. The right-handed batter will be looking to make an impact with the bat in the upcoming edition with the added burden of leadership on his shoulders.
