NewZealand T20 TRI-SERIES LIVE: New Zealand will rotate all their ICC T20 World Cup-bound players in the upcoming Tri Series. The Black Caps T20 World Cup squad will first contest the T20 Tri Series with Pakistan and Bangladesh starting in Christchurch on October 7. With seven matches across eight days at Hagley Oval, the Tri Series will provide fans their last chance to see the team before they depart for Australia on October 15. Gavin Larsen, an NZC selector, stated on Monday that, depending on results, rotation would be a significant factor across four or five games. The Tri Series beforehand will provide high-quality preparation for the World Cup for all three teams participating. And this will also be the last chance saloon for the Kiwis to figure out their best playing XI combination for the showpiece event in Australia.

“Certainly the goal is to rotate the squad across the playing opportunities through that tri-series and to basically fine-tune what has been our existing game plan over the recent time,” chief selector of the New Zealand cricket team Gavin Larsen said as per Stuff.

“There’s certainly nothing majorly different that we’re going to be focusing on – they’re very important preparation games for us,” he added.

The Black Caps open their T20 World Cup campaign against Australia at the SCG on Saturday, October 22, before facing Afghanistan (MCG), England (Gabba) and two qualifiers at the SCG and Adelaide Oval respectively.

In addition, New Zealand will play practice matches in Australia against South Africa and India before their WC opener against the hosts.
