New Zealand batter Chad Bowes created a new record as he smashed the fastest double century in List A cricket. His phenomenal knock came during the game against Volts at the Ford Cup tournament. Bowes took 103 deliveries to reach his double-century, surpassing the record that was jointly held previously by Australia’s Travis Head and India’s Narayan Jagadeesan.

Chad Bowes’ knock was laced with 27 fours and seven sixes and finished his innings at 205 runs. The Canterbury Kings opener bettered both Travis Head and Jagadeesan’s record by 11 deliveries. Powered by Bowes’ whirlwind knock, the Kings amassed a mammoth 343-run total in their 1st innings. In response, the Otago Volts were bundled out for just 103 runs. Incidentally, Bowes’ world record was set in his 100th List A match.
