Vaughan termed Jaiswal as the new Virender Sehwag and asserted he will torment bowling attacks of teams in different formats.

Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal on Sunday scored his second double century of the IND vs ENG series. Former England captain Michael Vaughan was left deeply impressed by Jaiswal’s batting and called him the ‘new Virender Sehwag’.

IND vs ENG 3rd Test: Yashasvi Jaiswal continues rich vein of form, slams another century

Yashasvi Jaiswal had completed his century on the 3rd day of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test. He retired hurt towards the end of the day due to a back spasm. However, he returned on the 4th day to complete his double century. More than the double century, the way he tackled the England bowlers when India needed quick runs caught the eye of cricket fans. He made runs at a brisk pace and remained not out on 214 of 236 balls when India declared their innings.

Michael Vaughan after the match took to social media to express his admiration for Yashasvi Jaiswal. He termed Jaiswal as the new Virender Sehwag and said he will torment bowling attacks of teams in different formats just like Sehwag.

“India has a new @virendersehwag.. @ybj_19 is a player who will destroy many attacks in all formats exactly like Viru used to do,” Vaughan wrote on X (previously Twitter).
