Chasing a target of 236, England never dropped a sweat. Jason Roy and Philip Salt were on the assault mode from the get go, stitching together a 139-run opening stand off just 102 balls. With Buttler dropped to lower-order to give batting practice to Salt and Roy, the to went hammer and tongs.

While Aryan Dutt removed Jason Roy for 73, soon he cleaned up Philip Salt. Dawid Malan continued to plunder. But what will worry England will be captain Eoin Morgan’s form. For the second match in row, Morgan was dismissed for a duck.
While the Netherlands mounted a mini-comeback with quick wickets Salt, Morgan and Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali poured cold water on their hopes. The all-rounder smashed 40-ball 42 to complete the run chase with five overs to spare.

Earlier, opting to bat in the 2nd ODI, the Netherlands struggled. In the first 10 overs, the Dutch side could only manage 36 runs but crucially, they lost three important wickets. Vikramjit Singh, Max O’Dowd and Tim Cooper had all returned to pavillion.
It was the crucial 61-run partnership between Bas de Leede and Scott Edwards that steadied the Dutch ship. Captain Edwards played a counter-attacking knock of 78 off just 73 balls, taking on Moeen Ali.
Edwards added another crucial stand with Teja Nidamanuru. The 73-run partnership off 63 balls took the Netherlands to 235/7. But against a terrific batting side like England, it was clearly not enough.
