NED vs BAN Highlights: Netherlands knock Bangladesh out with 87-run win

Netherlands keep their faint semifinals hopes alive with a clinical 87-run win over Bangladesh.

NED vs BAN Highlights: Netherlands have knocked Bangladesh out of Cricket World Cup with a comprehensive 87-run win at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. While some might argue Bangladesh have a mathematical chance, it is next to none. Bangladesh bowlers did well to restrict Netherlands to 229 despite captain Scott Edwards playing a fine 69-run knock. But Bangladesh fell to Paul van Meekeren who bagged four wickets for just 23 runs. On a two-paced wicket, Bangladesh were bowled out for 142.

Opting to bat against Bangladesh in the 28th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Netherlands did not have a good start at the Eden Gardens. By 15th over, they were 63/4 and despite a partnership, the Dutch side were reduced to 107/5. But Scott Edwards added 78 runs with Sybrand Engelbrecht to steady the ship. In the end, a blazing knock by Logan van Beek (23 off 16) took Netherlands to 229.
