Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj treaded on an unusual path as he heaped praise on MS Dhoni. Yograj Singh is known for being a critic of MSD and has been vociferous in his opinions about the ex-India captain in the past. While Yuvraj has never spoken ill about Dhoni in the past, his father has accused the former of ending his son’s career.
Yograj Singh praises “fearless” MS Dhoni
In an interview with Samdish Bhatia, Yograj claimed that he finds MS Dhoni as a very motivating captain. Yuvraj’s father claimed that Thala was a very “fearless” skipper, who advised his bowlers on how and where to bowl exactly to batters. Heaping praise on MSD’s mentality, Yograj recalled an incident where Dhoni was struck on the head by Mitchell Johnson only to respond with a huge six off the very next delivery.
“I find Dhoni as a very motivating captain who can tell people what to do. The best thing about him was he would say “idhar dal, udhar dal“, could read the game well. The very best thing I like about him is that he is a fearless man. If you remember, in Australia he was hit on the grill by a delivery off Mitchell Johnson. He stood his ground and the very next ball, he pumped it for a six,” Yograj Singh said.

Earlier in 2024, Yograj had claimed that Dhoni’s actions led to Yuvraj’s early retirement. He further said Yuvraj could have easily played 4-5 years more.
“I won’t forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at his face in the mirror. He is a very big cricketer, but what he has done against my son, everything is coming out now; it can never be forgiven in life. I have never done two things in life – first, I have never forgiven anybody who has done wrong for me, and second, I have never hugged them in my life, be it my family members or my kids,” Yograj said.
