MS Dhoni has five ducks in his IPL career to date. The first time that the CSK skipper failed to open his account in the IPL was against the Rajasthan Royals at Chidambaram Stadium in 2010. Shane Watson had dismissed the CSK skipper for a first-ball duck. In that very season, he got his second duck against the Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals). Dhoni played just two deliveries before being dismissed by left-arm pacer Dirk Nannes. Harbhajan Singh, who played for the Mumbai Indians in 2015, handed Dhoni the third duck of his career by dismissing him in the very first ball. Last time Dhoni dismissed in a duck was against Avesh Khan in IPL 2021 at the Wankhede Stadium.

In Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, he was dimissed by Harshal Patel on a golden duck against Punjab Kings at the Dharamsala Stadium.
