Former CSK captain MS Dhoni has commenced his preparation for IPL 2025, with less than two months to go for the event. “Thala”, as he is fondly referred to by Chennai fans, will continue to treat the fans as he decided to participate in the cash rich-league for one more time, ending speculations of his IPL retirement. MSD was retained by CSK as an uncapped player for Rs 4 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.

In a post shared on social media platform X, Dhoni is seen batting in the nets as he dons CSK’s yellow pads. The destructive keeper-batter put rumours of his retirement to rest before the IPL auction in 2024, stating that he intends to enjoy the last few years of cricket he can play. He had also stated that he intends to keep himself fit for 9 months in order to take active part in two and a half months of IPL. And rightfully so, Dhoni has kept himself engaged in activities that include gym, playing other sports like tennis and football.

That’s what I want to do. It’s not easy. The emotions keep coming, the commitments are there. I want to enjoy the game for the next few years,” Dhoni had said after deciding to continue playing in the IPL.
