David Warner breaks Sachin Tendulkar’s record for fastest 1000 runs in ODI WC

Australian star David Warner has become the fastest to score 1000 runs in ODI World Cup in 19 innings, breaking Sachin Tendulkar and AB de Villiers' records who scored 1000 runs in 20 innings.

Australian star batter David Warner has become the 4th from his country to score 1000 runs in ODI World Cup. But he is also the fastest to do so. All he needed was 8 runs in the IND vs AUS clash to bring up 1000 runs and he did so with ease. Ricky Ponting was teh first Australian while Adam Gilchrist and Mark Waugh also scored 1000 WC runs before him. Sachin Tendulkar leads the charts with 2278 runs in World Cups.

David Warner has played in only three World Cup tournaments. But in 19 innings, he has amassed 1000 ODI runs, averaging well above 60. He also has four centuries and three half-centuries in those 19 innings.

Sachin Tendulkar and AB de Villiers both scored 1000 runs in ODI World Cup in 20 innings.

However, India captain Rohit Sharma could equal David Warner. Rohit has scored 978 runs in 18 ODI World Cup innings. If he scores 22 more runs in IND vs AUS, he will join David Warner for the unique record.
