No Room for Rohit Sharma, Get in Shrijith Krishnan
When you have a top-score of 18 in five matches, you really shouldn’t be playing. Instead the MI management should make a bold call, and draft Shrijith Krishnan in the playing XI. This Karnataka batter plays in the middle-order and can give the ball a good whack. In the 7 matches of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored 213 runs at an average of 42, and a strike-rate of 176.
But it will only happen if the skipper Hardik Pandya can make that bold call, and get ready to be booed again. That is the only option MI have for now. They could consider getting in another all-rounder in the form of Raj Angad Bawa, if he suits better.
Tilak Varma at No. 3
In the last outing vs DC, Tilak Varma scored 59 from 33 and just showed why needs to play more deliveries. He batted at a strike-rate of 178, more than Suryakumar Yadav. And if in T20Is, Surya can bat below him, why not in the IPL. These are some radical changes that should be implemented without any further ado.
Karn Sharma Might Have Eaten up Vignesh Puthur’s Spot
With a 3/36 in his maiden match of the season, Karn Sharma the leg-spinner showed why he should get an extended run in the playing XI.
