Mumbai Indians will be eyeing their fifth consecutive win in IPL 2025 as they lock horns with a fidegty LSG. Hardik Pandya and co. have bounced back strongly after starting the season on a poor note. The five-time champions are just three wins away from possibbly sealing a spot in the playoffs. Given that they are playing once again at Wankhede, MI aren’t expected to make any changes to their playing XI.
Predicted MI playing XI vs LSG
Ryan Rickleton (WK), Will Jacks, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (C), Naman Dhir, Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah, Vighesh Puthur
Impact player: Rohit Sharma
Rohit continues as impact sub
The Hitman is expected to continue playing as an impact player, given that it has worked for both MI and the batter. Rohit has bounced back to form after a string of poor scores. He has already smashed two back-to-back half centuries in the last two games and looks in good touch. Given his form and that he has 70+ scores in his last two innings, a hundred isn’t too far away.
Puthur gets another game
The MI youngster got another chance in the previous game after warming the bench for a few matches in between. He is expected to feature in the contest against LSG as well. While he was used only for one over in the game against SRH, it remains to be seen how Hardik will deploy him against LSG.
Meanwhile, pacers Boult, Chahar and Bumrah will be tasked with containing big-hitters Pooran, Marsh, Markram and Badoni.
