IPL 2025 Playoffs: MI & GT to finish at 20 points each? AI prediction makes matters complicated

IPL 2025: We just a couple of weeks left in the league stages, the race is on for the playoffs; and the fight is largely for one spot only.

When it comes to the IPL, all the guesswork is just thrown out of the window, given the unpredictable nature of the league. But still, with the advent of AI, it’s just becomes much more interesting to see some predictions coming from there. Ipltop4.com, through a simulator, predicts the winners of all the remaining IPL 2025 matches, giving us an insight, as to how the IPL points table could look like by the time last match ends; which team makes it to the playoffs, and which side loses out.

MI to Win All, GT to Lose One

MI and GT are thoroughly poised to take seal their spots, having won 7 matches each. Tuesday’s encounter in Mumbai could just be the match, which could bring us the first qualifier for playoffs as well. But let us also find out the fate of all the teams, with the help of the simulator, and their possible positions in the points table.

Predicted IPL 2025 Points Table on May 18

TeamMatchesWonLostNRPoints
RCB14113022
GT/MI14104020
PBKS 1494119
KKR1476115
DC1467113
SRH1431117
CSK/RR1431106

So, as per the simulator, MI is tipped to win all their remaining matches.. against GT, PBKS and DC. Then they end at 20 points. GT could go on to record L vs MI, W vs DC, W vs LSG, and W vs CSK to end on 20 as well. What that means is, depending on the NRR, these teams could finish on the second/third spots. But in overall lead will be RCB, who are predicted to record 11 wins in the season, and qualify with 22 points.

DC to Miss Out, CSK & RR to Fight for Last Spot

Lastly, the fourth team that goes on to be the fourth team in the playoffs, as per this, would be PBKS at 19 points. They win their next against DC, lose against MI, and win against RR. DC, on the other hand, the only other solid contenders, go on to lose their remaining three, pushing them out of qualification race.

Once again, these are all mere predictions, but as is visible with this points table, there will be no real surprises thrown at us in the remaining group stages. RCB would face off against GT or MI in the first qualifier, while PBKS could be up against GT or MI in the eliminator, which would set the tone for second qualifier, and eventually the IPL 2025 final.
