Memes are for everyone: DK’s tweet suggests he’s enjoying ‘it’s a World Cup year’ posts

In two matches this year, RCB's Dinesh Karthik has scored 66 runs at a massive strike-rate of 183, making fans wonder, if he can make the T20 World Cup squad.

With the amount of public and media scrutiny the Indian cricketers are under constantly, it is just difficult for them to maintain a decent sense of humour. But it seems like RCB’s Dinesh Karthik is just a touch different from the rest. The man seems to be enjoying the phase his career is in, alternating between broadcasting and playing, and of course, when the time comes, performing exceptionally well in the IPL.

It was on the back of a solid IPL in 2022, where he scored 330 runs in 16 matches, at an average of 55, that he made it to the T20 squad as well. But how are Karthik having a sense of humour and his performance related?

Dinesh Karthik’s Hilarious Post

In the first match of IPL 2024, as CSK and RCB faced off, Dinesh Karthik started off with a bang and scored 38 from 26 balls, with his innings including three fours and two sixes. In the next he scored 28 from 10 against PBKS. With the Indian wicket-keeper for the T20 World not final as yet, with a lot of options in the fray, DK too has thrown his name for the role.

While that might be debatable, at least he became a part of lot of memes, suggesting, that he might just seal the deal over other competitors. A tweet by the man suggested, he is aware of the developments on social media, and is enjoying watching them too. In the post, DK can be seen having a hearty laugh, with the caption, “Me seeing those ‘It’s a world cup year’ memes’.
