In the first qualifier, the Jaffna Kings faced the Kandy Falcons. The Kings secured a spot in the final while the Falcons lost in the rain-interrupted match. The Falcons scored 143 runs after choosing to bat first, with Pathum Nissanka leading the way with 35 at the top of the order.
Carlos Brathwaite took two wickets in the defense, but they let up 98 runs in 11 overs. When it started to rain, the play was over. The Kings won by a score of 24 runs by the DLS method. The Falcons will need to be vigilant to resume their winning ways.

The Colombo Stars beat the Galle Gladiators in the Eliminator match later in the evening. They gave a good performance in a match of 18 overs for each side that was interrupted due to rain. First to bowl, the Stars’ bowlers did an excellent job of stopping the Gladiators at 108/9.
In addition to Kasun Rajitha and Mohammad Nabi, Benny Howell also claimed three wickets for his team. Angelo Mathews (20*) and Ravi Bopara (43*) led their team to victory, which they won by seven wickets. The Stars will try to maintain their winning momentum.
