Lizaad Williams has joined Luke Wood and Kwena Maphaka among foreign stars who made a forgettable IPL 2024 debut. The Delhi Capitals slipped before delivering the first ball of his IPL career. Bowling against Ishan Kishan, he slipped in the popping crease and was unlucky to escape an injury.
Debut jitters for Lizaad Williams?
Luckily for him and the Capitals, he was unscathed. However, he did require a change of shoes. Whether it was his jitters before making his debut or the wrong pair of shoes that caused the nasty slip is unsure, but he’s found himself lucky that he wasn’t injured.
Lizaad then went on to bowl two overs. He was a tad bit expensive, going for 20 runs. But he was bowling at rapid speeds, clocking over 145 kmph on will.
