Rajasthan Royals have reclaimed the top spot in the IPL 2026 Points Table with a hat-trick of wins. They beat Mumbai Indians by 27 runs in a rain-curtailed match. Yashasvi Jaiswal (77 off 32) and Vaibhav Suryavanshi (39 off 14) powered Rajasthan Royals to 150/3 in the rain-curtailed 11-over match. Riyan Parag also chipped in with 20 off 10 as Rajasthan dominated the proceedings. Jaiswal and Suryavanshi smashed 59 runs in the 3.2 overs of the powerplay. Hardik Pandya returned for Mumbai Indians as he opted to bowl in the 11-overs-a-side match, as three hours of the match were washed out by rain. However, in the mini-battle between Jasprit Bumrah vs Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 15-year-old RR opener aced it, hitting the pacer for two sixes.

Perfect start by Rajasthan Royals

With Hardik Pandya opting to bowl after a three-hour delay in start, many thought it would be Mumbai Indians’ game. They had the bowlers who could dominate any batting line-up. But Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi had other ideas. In the 3.2 overs of powerplay, they plundered Mumbai’s pace attack, scoring 59 runs. Even as Suryavanshi fell for 14-ball 39, there was no stopping Jaiswal. He went on to hammer an unbeaten 32-ball 77, laced with 4 sixes and 10 fours as Rajasthan Royals posted 150/3 in 11 overs.

Suryavanshi wins Bumrah battle

Vaibhav Suryavanshi already plundered some of the most experienced bowlers but nobody could dominate him. Matt Henry, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Kagiso Rabada all went for sixes. But the battle fans were waiting for was Suryavanshi vs Bumrah. Everyone wanted to know how the 15-year-old would fare against the best bowler of this generation. The result? Suryavanshi hit Bumrah for a six on the first ball. He ended up hitting two sixes in five balls he faced against him. Bumrah had to be satisfied with two dot balls against him.

Mumbai bottle chase

Chasing 151 in 11 overs was never going to be easy. They needed their star Rohit Sharma (5 off 6) to give them a fast start with Ryan Rickleton. But Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger and Sandeep Sharma reduced Mumbai to 25/3 in the first three overs. Archer removed Rickleton in the first over for 8. Suryakumar Yadav (6 off 3) followed suit in the next over to Burger. And Sandeep Sharma dismissed Rohit Sharma for a 6th time, extending his excellent record against the former India skipper. Mumbai lost the battle there. Tilak Varma (14 off 10) and Hardik Pandya (9 off 6) both failed to fire. Naman Dhir (25 off 13) and Sherfane Rutherford (25 off 8) offered some resistance but they did not last long either. In the end, Mumbai ended 11 overs with 123/9. This was Mumbai Indians’ second consecutive loss.
