Babar Azam fails
Despite having a great tournament overall, Babar Azam could not get going on a decent batting wicket. All he could manage was 18 from 20 deliveries. That did put a bit of pressure on the middle-order, but they recovered well to score 196 in their stipulated 20 overs.
Multan bat poorly
The chase was in Multan’s grips for at least 9 overs, where they were 85/1, with Steve Smith and Josh Philippe going great guns, but both fell in quick succession, and never really recovered from there. Sufuiyan Muqeem, who is the highest wicket-taker this year, was excellent with figures of 3/30, while Iftikhar Ahmed and Nahid Rana chipped in with two wickets each. In fact, in the last five overs, the boundaries also dried out.
