MI vs LSG Live Score, IPL 2026: Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickleton have powered Mumbai Indians to an easy 6-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants. Mumbai chased down the 229-run target with 8 balls to spare. Rohit Sharma scored 84 off 44 balls, while Rickleton smashed 32-ball 83 as the duo added 143-run opening stand. In the end, Naman Dhir finished things off with 23 off 12. LSG finished with 228/5 on board, with Nicholas Pooran leading the charge with a 17-ball fifty. The Caribbean star slammed 8 sixes and a four en route to his first century of IPL 2026. Meanwhile, Josh Inglis – who made his debut for LSG – was poor as he scored just 13 runs while Marsh scored a good 44-run knock. Pant (15) and Markram (31) didn’t do well either. As a result, LSG have posted a 229-run target for MI.

Pooran back in form
Not many expected Nicholas Pooran to feature in the MI vs LSG match. But they would be glad he did. Before the match, Pooran averaged just 10.25 in 8 innings. But a promotion to the No.3 position on Monday helped him get his form back. With the Wankhede pitch assisting batters, Pooran unleashed his array of shots after Josh Inglis fell in the 3rd over. Pooran hit 63 off just 21 balls, laced with 8 sixes and a four as LSG scored 90/1 in the powerplay. With Mitchell Marsh (44 off 25), he added a 94-run stand off just 35 balls to help LSG score 123/1 in 8 overs.
However, after Marsh and Pooran fell in the 9th over to Corbin Bosch, LSG slumped once again. Rishabh Pant (15 off 10) could not take advantage of the surface as he departed quickly. With just 36 runs coming in the last four overs, Lucknow Super Giants managed to post 228/5, about 25 runs short of par score at the Wankhede Stadium.
Perfect chase for Mumbai
Mumbai had no Hardik Pandya to bank on as their captain missed out on the match with back spasm. But with Rohit Sharma back from injury, things looked good, and the former captain provided MI with the perfect start. Partnering with Ryan Rickleton, Rohit added a 143-run opening stand to set the stage for the 229-run chase. Rohit took on Avesh Khan for 21 runs to finish the powerplay with 71/0. And then, Rickleton unleashed his beast mode. He took on M Siddharth for 23 runs to score 83 off just 32 balls. Rohit Sharma perished for 84 off 44.
While Mumbai Indians also slumped a bit with Tilak Varma (11 off 13) and Suryakumar Yadav (12 off 7) failing to fire, Naman Dhir and Will Jacks completed the formalities.

MI vs LSG Match Preview: Lucknow Super Giants
04/05/2026 18:30
Lucknow's struggles are less surprising, given their inconsistency all season. Their last outing against KKR was a nail-biting Super Over loss, with Mohsin Khan taking a five-wicket haul for 23, the first five-wicket haul of IPL 2026.
The flip side of that? Their bowling is stronger than it was weeks ago. Mohsin Khan has picked up nine wickets in four games this season with an economy rate of 6.37, the best in the league among those who've bowled at least five overs.
But the batting remains the real problem. Rishabh Pant and Nicholas Pooran have not delivered as expected, with Pant averaging 27 and Pooran just 10 across the season. Mitchell Marsh (212 runs) and Aiden Markram (193 runs) are their leading run-scorers, but haven't matched the output of the league's leading batters.
MI vs LSG Match Preview: Mumbai Indians
04/05/2026 18:20
Mumbai's descent has been hard to watch for a franchise built on consistency. Rohit Sharma has missed five matches with a hamstring injury, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya have not been among the runs, and Jasprit Bumrah has failed to take wickets regularly. Pandya has managed 146 runs and four wickets this season, while Suryakumar has 186 runs in what's been a forgettable tournament for both.
The one bit of good news is that Rohit took a fitness test on the eve of the match and batted in the nets, and if available, it will be a big boost for MI's chances. Beyond that, Naman Dhir has been the silver lining, batting at Nos. 3 and 4, he has scored two fifties and a 45 in five innings, with 233 runs at a strike rate of 147.46, second only to Ryan Rickelton's 297.

Wankhede Stadium Pitch Report
04/05/2026 18:07
The Wankhede remains one of the IPL's most batting-friendly venues, and this season has been no different. The boundaries are not too big, and the chasing teams have made good use of that.
The match will be played on pitch no. 4, which has been used only once so far this season, in a game where Punjab Kings chased down MI's 195 for 6 with seven wickets and 21 balls in hand. PBKS didn't just chase successfully; they did it comfortably. The surface, in other words, supported attacking stroke play.
The average first-innings score at the Wankhede is generally between 180 and 195, with the venue offering consistent bounce, quick outfield conditions, and shorter boundaries that support stroke play. Dew is the other tactical swing factor. Teams often prefer bowling first due to dew affecting second-innings bowling conditions.
MI vs LSG Head to Head
04/05/2026 17:57
This is one of the asymmetrical rivalries in IPL 2026. Lucknow Super Giants have enjoyed the upper hand in this rivalry so far, leading 6-2 overall. That's a significant advantage, and even at the Wankhede, they have won two out of three matches against Mumbai, making them a tricky opponent despite their current struggles.
At the Wankhede Stadium, Lucknow have won two out of three matches. Considering MI’s form at the moment, that lead could only grow.
