Consecutive wickets for Kuldeep Yadav as Saleem Safi comes and goes. A desperate attempt to whack the ball, but all he could get was a top-edge and Sai Sudharsan made no mistake. Afghanistan are 9 down, as Kuldeep bags his third. But that's the end of the match, as Sharafuddin Ashraf won't come to bat. India win by an innings and 300 runs.

Nangeyalia Kharoti survived just in the previous delivery but that joy did not last long. In the next delivery, he tried to sweep again and got a leading edge for an easy catch. Afghanistan are 8 down. 

After Manav Suthar gets his 7th wicket of the game after getting rid of Afsar Zazai, Washington Sundar bags his fourth wicket as he dismisses Azmatullah Omarzai for just 4 runs off 5 balls. Afghanistan are 7 down and India need just 3 more wickets to clinch a victory in the one-off Test.

India need 5 more wickets to bowl out Afghanistan and may be closing in on a massive victory in the one-off Test if they do so. The third and final session of Day 3 is underway, with Manav Suthar and Washington Sundar bowling from both ends.

Washington Sundar gets his 3rd wicket in the 2nd innings as Sediq Atal gets caught out in the last ball before Tea. Afghanistan have lost their fifth wicket as the settled batter is forced to walk back after scoring 42 runs. 
At Tea, AFG are 98/5 and trail by 314 runs

Washington Sundar strikes again as Shubman Gill takes a wonderful catch at the slips to get rid of Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi. Afghanistan lose their fourth wicket just before Tea. Two deliveries later, India burn another review as Sundar is confident of trapping the batter for an LBW but ball-tracking shows the ball going on to miss the stumps. 

AFG are 97/4 and trail by 315 runs

Washington Sundar gets rid of Rahmat Shah as the batter throws his wicket away by attempting a big shot but gets caught out by Manav Suthar. Afghanistan lose their 3rd wicket. Shah was the highest run-getter for the visitors in the first innings with a fine fifty. But it wasn't the case this time around. 
AFG are 87/3 and trail by 325 runs

Rahmanullah Gurbaz attempts another big hit off Kuldeep Yadav but sends it straight down Prasidh Krishna's throat. Kuldeep has his first wicket of the game and Afghanistan lose their second wicket.

AFG are 74/2 and trail by 338 runs

Afghanistan have managed to navigate their way through to 56/1 at drinks before Tea. India are still hunting for their second wicket after Siraj's first strike. Kuldeep Yadav, who went wicketless in the first innings, is into the attack now. 
AFG are 58/1 and trail by 355 runs

Another poor outing for Abdul Malik (8) as he gets trapped for an LBW by Mohammed Siraj. Afghanistan take a review, but in vain, as ball-tracking shows the delivery going on to crash into the stumps. Siraj gets his first wicket in the one-off Test.

Best Bowling Figures on Test Debut for India (in an innings)

Once again, Manav Suthar and Prasidh Krishna start the second session as India look to take the first wicket in this innings. Afghanistan openers look fresh and more positive this time around. There are no demons on this pitch, and India would need to bowl with discipline.

So India failed to take a wicket in the four overs they bowled after enforcing a follow-on. Manav Suthar's six-fer bundled Afghanistan for 152 as India took a 412-run lead in the first innings. 

Having been asked to bat again, Afghanistan are 18 without loss. They attacked Manav Suthar a bit in this brief period of play and it would be interesting how the Indian spinner reacts in the second session. 

After taking a 412-run lead, India have enforced a follow-on, meaning Afghanistan are set to bat again. The scorching weather conditions might've made India feel that they might need to rest the bowlers but Gill opts to close this game quickly. 

Manav Suthar, who is the man of the moment, is set to open the bowling with the red cherry as well. We are 15 minutes away from Lunch, and India would love bowling right now, as Afghanistan don't have much to gain. Openers Abdul Malik and Sediq Atal are in the middle.

Manav Suthar's 6/33 becomes the second-best figures by an Indian bowler on debut! 

Suthar destroyed Afghanistan’s lower order to seal the innings. He had Safi LBW for 0, though replays showed it pitched outside leg and Safi didn’t review.

Next over Washington Sundar took Kharote’s partner Ziaur Rahman, who hit a six first ball but then top-edged a slog to Pant at short mid-wicket for 6. Manav finished 6/33, including Rahmat Shah bowled earlier.

Afghanistan collapsed from there. India enforced the follow-on and Manav led the team off with the match ball in his hands. A moment to savour for the Rajasthan lad!

Manav Suthar gets fifer on debut

What a debut game it has been for Suthar. After impressing with the bat, Suthar has dominated the proceedings with the ball, and has deservedly completed his fifer. With this, he has become only the tenth Indian ever to take a fifer on debut. Manav flighted it in, drifting toward leg stump.

A well-set Rahmat Shah went down on one knee to sweep, thinking he had it covered. But the ball dipped more than he expected, missed the sweep, brushed his pad and crashed into the middle and leg stump. Bowled him. A perfect delivery for Manav’s 5th wicket on debut, and Rahmat’s 60 was over. Superb innings by Rahmat nonetheless.

The match gets better and better for Manav Suthar, who is now just one wicket away from getting a fifer. Superb bowling from Suthar again, drifitng the ball in before getting a massive turn. 

Manav flighted one above Ashraf’s eyeline. Ashraf cleared his front leg and tried to slog across the line, but the ball spun away. He got a thin outside edge and Rishhabh Pant took a sharp catch behind the stumps. Interestingly, umpire gave it not out but a great DRS call by Team India overturns the decision.

Manav gets his 4th wicket, Ashraf out for 11.

So the first hour of the morning session is done and Afghanistan are carried by Rahmat Shah's resilience. He is batting at 55 off 128, while Ashraf has also made 10 off 29. 

India started with Prasidh Krishna getting Omarai for a duck. Suthar bowled tight lines before Mohammed Siraj came in. He couldn't do much but the biggest talking point is Kuldeep Yadav, who is slowly getting into his rhythm. He is getting drift and turn, which could mean bad fortunes for Afghanistan in this scorching heat in Mullanpur!

A resolute fifty by Rahmat Shah

Something to celebrate for Afghanistan from their batting. Rahmat Shah, their mainstay who got to 1000 Test runs yesterday, has completed a half-century after a misfield by Kuldeep Yadav on the boundary led to a four. Rahmat has been the shining light, with his incredible defensive technique being the best. Not just this, he has punished everything full and has been the rock for Afghanistan. 

It is his 6th fifty apart from the three centuries he has scored across 12 Test matches.

Apart from Suthar, the other bowler that was on point yesterday was Prasidh Krishna. Now, he has started Day 3 with a bang. 

A lazy shot by Azmatullah Omarzai as an inside edge is dragged onto the stumps, and the Afghani all-rounder gets out on a duck. Pitched on the length, the ball held its line and Omarzai played it without moving his feet that led to a huge gap between bat and pad. That was his undoing. Probing lengths here by Prasidh, who looks dangerous. 

Sharafuddin Ashraf is the new batter in as AFG still trail by 446 runs.

Suthar, who has been exceptional so far, deserves a fifer. He has been a standout bowler, having taken 3 for 21 yesterday. Two more wickets and he becomes only the tenth Indian bowler to take a five-wicket haul on Test debut.
