The Delhi Premier League 2026 auction concluded at JW Marriott in Aerocity, New Delhi, with 600 players going under the hammer as franchises worked with a purse of Rs 1.5 crore each for men and Rs 75 lakh for women. Bidding wars broke out early for IPL-experienced domestic stars across the four categories — Marquee, A, B, and C. Marquee early picks included Tejaswi Dahiya retained via RTM by South Delhi Superstarz, who proved to be the costliest pick at INR 40 lakh. Kuldip Yadav went to Central Delhi Kings, meanwhile Himmat Singh retained via RTM by New Delhi Tigers.
Suyash Sharma went to defending champions West Delhi Lions; Sarthak Ranjan retained via RTM by North Delhi Strikers, Anuj Rawat to Puraani Dilli 6, and Navdeep Saini joining Outer Delhi Warriors. Franchises had already secured their core ahead of the event, retaining 65 men and 28 women players. Rishabh Pant was unavailable due to India duties, while the auction also threw up surprises as relatively unknown names like Tanuj Kanwar, Suryansh Raina, and Ankit Dabas attracted huge bids. Former RCB player Mayank Dagar is set to feature in the DPL for the first time.

8 players can be retained from the Marquee category, 16 from Category A, 22 from Category B and 19 from Category C.
- Marquee: India internationals, India A players and players who’ve been part of IPL squad in any of the last 3 seasons
- Category A: Delhi’s senior men’s players who’ve played in any of the previous 3 domestic seasons
- Category B: Delhi Under-23, Under-19 and Under-16 players
- Category C: DDCA-registered players from Delhi’s league cricket circuit
The base price for Marquee players is Rs 10 lakhs, Category A is Rs 5 lakhs, Category B is Rs 3 lakhs and Category C is Rs 1 lakh.

So, that's a wrap from the Delhi Premier League auction 2026. All 8 teams have completed their quota of 25 players after an auction that was nearly 8 hours. The biggest news from the auction, however, remains that Rishabh Pant will be unavailable this season due to nation duty. Purani Dilli 6 otherwise, would've retained him.
The biggest buy of the auction was Tejasvi Singh, who was in KKR squad this IPL 2026 season. He was picked as RTM card pick by South Delhi Superstarz. Mayank Yadav and Simarjeet Singh, meanwhile, will play together at East Delhi Riders.

Similar to the Indian Premier League (IPL), each franchise will be granted a Right to Match (RTM) card at the DPL 2026 auction. Unlike the IPL, the original bidder can’t raise the price, and the franchise to which the player belongs can reclaim them at the final price.
