Litton Das happens to be Bangladesh's T20I skipper, and yet he would miss the Zimbabwe series, to feature in LPL.

The BCB seems to be giving preference to T20 leagues over international cricket, at the moment. In a surprise move, the board officials said on Friday, that skipper Litton Das and pacer Taskin Ahmed won’t be part of the three-match Zimbabwe T20I series, due to the upcoming Lanka Premier League; both players have been issued NOCs for the same, as per a report in Cricbuzz.

Mind you, Litton is currently injured, and will miss the entire Australia T20I series. Post that he is expected to tale part in the one-off Test, while Taskin is to be part of the Bangladesh ODI team. “They (Litton and Taskin) are not part of the Zimbabwe T20Is as they have been given NOCs for the LPL,” Shahriar Nafees, BCB cricket operations in-charge, told Cricbuzz.

“Apart from them, Mehidy Hasan, Hasan Mahmud and Shakib Al Hasan have also been given NOCs for the LPL,” he added. Litton, along with Mehidy Hasan will be part of the Galle Gallants, while Taskin along with Shakib al Hasan will be part of Jaffna Kings. The tournament will be held from July 17 to August 8.

BAN vs ZIM starts from June 28

The BAN vs ZIM one-off Test starts on June 28, and the Test squad is expected to leave Dhaka on June 21; while some of the players will join at a later date. A preparatory camp was setup in Sylhet for the same reason, but practice could not happen due to rain. “Test squad members who are not involved in white-ball cricket will leave for Zimbabwe on Sunday,” added Nafees.

Meanwhile, the tour starts with the Test itself, followed by the three match ODI series, on July 6, 9 and 11. Post that, the T20Is would commence in Bulawayo, from July 15-19.
