Kohli Gambhir Fight: The BCCI has sanctioned Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir for a code of conduct breach following their ugly fight at the Ekana Stadium on Monday. The two former India teammates went head-to-head after RCB defeated the Lucknow Super Giants in a low-scoring clash. Naveen-ul-Haq who was also involved in the exchange was also fined accordingly. As per a BCCI statement, Gambhir and Kohli have admitted to the Level 2 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct. LSG bowler Naveen-ul-Haq has also been fined 50 per cent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. The Afghanistan pacer has admitted to a level 1 offence.

The duo went at it after the game after moments of tension building on. Gambhir had shushed the crowd during the game at Chinnaswamy, and Virat repeated the same in Lucknow on Monday. They had also clashed during an RCB-KKR game in 2013, with Gambhir leading the latter. On Monday, they had to be separated by KL Rahul and Faf du Plessis as the war of words continued.
The fight ensued after Gambhir pulled away Kyle Mayers, who was having a conversation with Virat Kohli after the game. Earlier, Naveen-ul-Haq also had an altercation with Kohli and was subsequently charged with a 50% fine of his match fee.
Robin Uthappa and the entire JioCinema commentary box also slammed the two former teammates for their antics after the match.
“I am not a fan of Virat Kohli’s aggression,” Robin Uthappa said.
