But in an unfortunate turn of event, a Virat Kohli fan was arrested for allegedly killing his friend, a Rohit Sharma fan in Tamil Nadu. According to a report by The Indian Express, the two fans were involved in a drunken brawl over who was a better cricketer – Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli. Kohli-Fan KILLS Rohit-Fan: The person who was killed was identified as P Vighnesh and the person who allegedly committed the crime was identified as S Dharmaraj. Both hail from Poyyur village in the Ariyalur district. Vighnesh had completed ITI and was waiting for his job visa to fly to Singapore, said the police. Further on, the two friends were debating over who the better cricketer was, and what followed was a physical fight.
“Both had consumed liquor. As per initial investigation, Vignesh was supporting Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) while Dharmaraj was a Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) supporter,” police said.
According to the Keelapalur police, Vighnesh (Rohit Sharma fan) and Dhamraj (Virat Kohli fan) were talking about cricket in an open area near in Mallur on Tuesday. But during the debate, it turned ugly when Vignesh allegedly mocked Kohli and RCB.

“During the course of their debate, Vignesh had allegedly mocked RCB and Virat Kohli. Vignesh had the habit of body shaming Dharmaraj, who was a stammerer. On that day he had made some remarks comparing the RCB team to the speaking difficulty of Dharmaraj. This infuriated Dharmaraj who attacked Vignesh with a bottle and later hit him with a cricket bat on the head. Dharmaraj soon fled the spot,” officials said.
A group of workers spotted Vighnesh’s body the next morning and informed the police. His body was then sent to the government hospital in Ariyalur for autopsy. It is to be noted that both, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, enjoy a huge fan following. Moreover, the IPL teams they represent (Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians) are arguably two of the most popular teams in the league.
On the pitch, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma fight it out to be the leading scorer in T20I cricket. Rohit is currently the leader but Kohli can surpass him in the India vs Pakistan match.
