Indian stand-in skipper KL Rahul alongside rest of the Indian contingent reached Indore to take on Australia in the second ODI on September 24 (Sunday). BCCI recently uploaded video on their official ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) handle to give an update on team India’s arrival ahead of the series decider against mighty Australia. To note, the Holkar Stadium is set to host the high-anticipated contest between the two cricketing giants.
Indians are leading series by 1-0
India will be up against Australia for the second time in the 3-match series on Sunday. The Men in Blue won the first game of the series by 5 wickets and is currently leading the series by 1-0. After being invited to bat first, Australia posted 276 on the board. David Warner scored a fifty with the bat. For India, Mohammad Shami was the pick of the bowlers as he completed a five-wicket haul.
In reply, India chased down the total with 5 wickets in hand. Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 74 runs and 71 runs respectively. KL Rahul added an unbeaten 58. The home team is just one win away from sealing the series while the Australians are desperate to make a comeback in the series.
The wicket at the Holkar Stadium is known to be bowlers nightmare, thanks to the flat surface as well as the shorter boundaries. In their previous appearance at his venue, team India batters appeared in brutal form and posted a mammoth 385 runs. Opener Shubman Gill was also part of the game and played a remarkable knock. The pitch is expected to remain the same and assist the batters throughout the match. The skipper winning the toss might plan to have a bowl first and chase the total under lights.
Speaking about the conditions, the weather in Indore is expected to remain partly cloudy on Sunday. There are a few chances of rain playing a spoilsport during the second ODI between India and Australia.
