Sunil Narine has done the unthinkable. The Kolkata Knight Riders spinner has become their first centurion for the franchise in the IPL 2024 season. The southpaw opener smashed a maiden IPL century in just 49 balls, which happens to be the joint fastest century by a KKR batter.

After his maiden IPL century, Sunil Narine is the highest run-getter for the Kolkata Knight Riders this season. The all-rounder is also the third-highest run scorer this season, behind the likes of Virat Kohli and Riyan Parag.

Sunil Narine: 3rd centurion for KKR
Interestingly, Sunil Narine is just the third player from the Kolkata Knight Riders to score a hundred in the IPL. The first was Brendon McCullum, who scored KKR and the IPL’s first-ever hundred in 2008 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The last season saw Venkatesh Iyer score their second-ever ton, and now Narine has joined the short and illustrious list.
