Former England captain Kevin Pietersen was the first batsman to score a hundred in the IPL. He scored a hundred against the Deccan Chargers while playing for the Delhi Daredevils in April 2012. Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ben Stokes has two IPL hundreds to his name. The first one came while playing for the Rising Pune Super Giants in 2017, against the Gujarat Lions in 2017. The second hundred from Ben Stokes’ bat came against the Mumbai Indians while he was representing the Rajasthan Royals in Abu Dhabi.
England wicketkeeper batsman Jonny Bairstow slammed his maiden and only IPL hundred against Royal Challengers Bangalore while representing Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2019. When it comes to most IPL hundreds by an England batsman, Jos Buttler has slammed five hundreds in the Indian T20 League, the second-highest total by any batsman in the history of the league.
Jos Buttler brought up his maiden IPL century against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad in May 2021. In IPL 2022, Jos Buttler became the first batsman to score four IPL hundreds in one single season, after RCB batting legend Virat Kohli.
Harry Brook has now joined a league of England batting greats who have reached a triple-figure score in the IPL. One can expect him to add many more hundreds in the days to come.
