Mumbai Indians Innings – Surya, Pollard fire MI to 161: Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma brought some respectability to Mumbai Indians innings & Kieron Pollard much needed flourish. The MI duo of SKY and Tillak added 83 of just 49 balls with former scoring 52 of just 36 balls. Pollard scored 23 of Pat Cummins last over as Mumbai finished with 161/4 in 20 Overs.
Pollard stayed unbeaten on just 5 of 22 balls and young Tilak Varma played his part with knock of 38 of 27 balls
Umesh Yadav first sent Rohit Sharma back to pavilion for just 3. Varun Chakarvarthy than ended SUPER-IMPRESSIVE debut of 18 year old AB BABY Dewald Brevis. Brevis scored 29 of just 19 balls before being stumped out by KKR.
Ishan Kishan also could not do much and IPL’s costliest player at the auction was out for just 14 of 21 balls:
After Kishan’s dismissal, Young Tilak Varma joined SuryaKumar Yadav in middle. After cautious stay on the wicket, both started playing big shots.
Umesh again was impressive for KKR and finished with 1 wicket for 25 in his 4 overs. Young debutant pacer Rasikh Salam also impressed and is now allowing MI to score freely.
Earlier Shreyas Iyer won the toss but to everyone’s surprise, he decided to chase, sending Mumbai Indians to bat first. The records in Pune suggest batting first teams have won both games.
