Missed out on 1000 IPL runs vs KKR – Warner could have added another feather to the cap, had he scored 24 more runs. If Warner had scored 85 or more runs he would have scored 1000 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Warner has enjoyed playing against the two-time champions and looked determined before falling victim to Umesh Yadav in the 17th over.
Second match of the campaign – Warner arrived late for the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 15 as he was on international duty with Australia. Warner’s arrival has given a new dimension to the Delhi Capitals side as they now have match-winners like Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw in their batting lineup. Warner along with Prithvi Shaw gave an opening partnership of 93 before Shaw went home for a well-made 51 off 29.

Missing piece in the puzzle – Delhi Capitals were missing on a proven opening partnership as Tim Seifert was given the nod before Warner arrived. Seifert scored 31 runs in his two games and didn’t give a strong performance and ultimately paid the price. On the flip side, Warner’s arrival and 93-run opening stand now means that DC have found their missing piece in the puzzle.
Delhi Capitals in commanding position – While Warner and Shaw were firing on all cylinders at the start of the innings, Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur made sure they got Delhi Capitals to a commanding position. DC ended with 215/5 with Shardul Thakur scoring 29 off 11 deliveries while Axar amassed 22 off 14 deliveries.
