Virat Kohli celebrated his 500th game in international in some style at Trinidad. On the momentous occasion, Kohli did what he does best, scoring a stroke-filled half-century in the IND vs WI 2nd Test. The 34-year-old got to his 30th Test fifty when India was in a spot of bother after a mini collapse on Day 1 at Queen’s Park Oval.

All eyes were on Virat Kohli as India headed into the game. The former India captain rose to the occasion, smashing a fine half-century to put his side in command. Kohli walked into bat in the second session and saw India in the middle of a collapse. The visitors lost 4 wickets in the space of 43 runs in tricky conditions. Virat however weathered the storm with a gritty knock. He smashed his 6th boundary of the day to get to the milestone.
Kohli became the first player to score a half-century in their 500th game. He is only the 4th Indian to reach the milestone of 500 games behind Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and MS Dhoni.
Kohli will now aim to turn into a big century to put India beyond the reach of the West Indies. En route to his knock, Kohli went past Jacques Kallis to become the 5th leading run-getter across formats in international cricket. The former India captain needed 73 runs to surpass the Proteas all-rounder. He ended the day on 89 not out.
