On Monday, April 13, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 table-toppers Rajasthan Royals (RR) by a comprehensive margin of 57 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. While the win came as a relief for SRH following back-to-back defeats, RR suffered their first defeat of the season after winning four matches on the trot. The match not only grabbed headlines for SRH’s win but also a few standout performances, including Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain.
SRH youngsters shine to make Kavya Maran happy
The duo wreaked havoc on the RR batting lineup, including the three wickets in the opening over off Praful Hinge, especially the one of Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The 15-year-old teenage prodigy, who has been in fine form in IPl 2026, was dismissed for a golden duck. Moreover, his wicket got the attention of SRH owner Kavya Maran, who was also in the stands during their win.
Elaborating on the incident, Suryavanshi attempted a pull shot off Hinge’s delivery but managed a slight edge. The ball went straight up in the air and was caught successfully by wicketkeeper Salil Arora. This wicket got a priceless reaction from Maran, which has been doing the rounds on social media. The SRH owner rose from here seat while she prayed for the wicket and erupted in joy once the ball was in Arora’s gloves.
Fan gifts blue rose to Kavya Maran
The Indian businesswoman Kavya Maran, who is often seen watching SRH’s IPL games from close quarters, also grabbed eyeballs for receiving a rose from a fan. Post SRH’s victory over RR in match 21 of IPL 2026, she received a blue-coloured rose from a fan while she was in a lift. The cricket franchise executive quickly extended her hand to collect the flower and smiled, leaving the internet in awe.
Speaking of the Orange Army, the Ishan Kishan-led side jumped to fourth place in IPL 2026 standings. Boasting a positive net run-rate, they will next host Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in match 27 of the season on April 18 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
