KAR vs RAJ: Manish Pandey’s Karnataka qualified for the quarter-finals after after registering a thumping 8-wicket win over Rajasthan on Sunday. Rajasthan lost as many as 5 wickets inside 10 overs before their captain Deepak Hooda slammed a hundred to drag his team to 199 all-out in 41.4 overs

Chasing the below par total, Karnataka lost Devdutt Padikkal early, but achieved the target comfortably on the back of fifties from Ravikumar Samarth, Krishnamurthy Siddharth and Manish Pandey.

Manish Pandey-led Karnataka finished second behind Tamil Nadu in Elite Group B after winning three out of their five matches. Rajasthan dominated Elite Group B fixtures, winning four out of the five matches.

Karnataka defeated Puducherry by a massive 236-run margin in their first match before losing to Tamil Nadu by 8 wickets. The side gained some momentum later and won by 7 and 6 wickets against Mumbai and Baroda respectively before going down by four wickets versus Bengal. Karnataka’s highest team in the tournament is 289/6. Two out of their three wins have come while chasing. They lost both their matches while defending.

For Rajasthan, the captaincy of Deepak Hooda – who shifted from Baroda this year – has worked out well. Rajasthan defeated Punjab, Goa, Railways and Assam on the trot before losing to Services by 16 runs in their last group match. The side defended their total twice, and chased the opposition target as many times. Their biggest total of 335 came against Assam in Ranchi.

Ravikumar Samarth (243) and Manisha Pandey (218) have been top-scorers for Karnataka. For Rajasthan, Abhijeet Tomar (328), Manender Singh (269) and Mahipal Lomror (230) are are topping the run chart.

Pacer Aniket Choudhary and and left-arm spinner Shubham Sharma have scalped 13 and 11 wickets respectively for Rajasthan. KC Cariappa and Praveen Dubey have picked up six wickets a piece for Karnataka.
