Jofra Archer Injury: Things continue to go all wrong for England pacer Jofra Archer. The speedster has been ruled out of the upcoming Ashes series and the Ireland Test. His stint for IPL 2023 is also over as the pacer begins his preparation to recover his elbow injury. Kevin Pietersen has opined that Archer’s England stint is coming to an end. And therefore the pacer should focus on franchise cricket in the coming future. Follow Cricket Live Updates on InsideSport.IN

“I’m gutted for Jofra. Absolutely gutted. I think this will probably end his journey with English cricket. I know that there are reports around a franchise contract, and that would be the smartest thing for him to do now. Take six months to recover, select a few tournaments to play, and bowl at the speed of light for a few months of the year. He would earn good money and still have a career in the game,” wrote Pietersen.
“I think the longer form of the game has passed him by. I think English cricket has probably passed him by. It’s no fault of his own, he’s just injury prone. As much as he would love to play for England, because I know that’s his dream, it’s probably finished. He should now just go and cash in as much as he can in franchise cricket. But first of all, get himself fit.”

As per ECB, Jofra Archer will undergo rehab in England. ECB had released a statement when Mumbai Indians released Archer for the rest of the season, stating that the 28-year-old was “pushing through the discomfort whilst recently playing” but could not take any further part in the IPL. “It has been a frustrating and upsetting period for Jofra Archer,” said ECB Managing
“He was making good progress until a recurrence of the elbow injury, which kept him out for an extended period previously. We wish him the best of luck with his recovery. I’m sure we will see Jofra back to his best and winning games for England, whatever the format. Hopefully, sooner rather than later.”
Archer’s elbow issues date back to early 2020 when he sustained a stress fracture that sidelined him for the first half of the year. In early 2021, he had to go under the knife after a freak injury at home. A stress injury on his back in May 2022 put him on the shelf for the entirety of the year.
