Jasprit Bumrah’s best spells in SENA countries

Jasprit Bumrah will be the most essential bowler for India to win the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Jasprit Bumrah is a relentless force, a modern-day master whose skill with the ball has the capability to challenge any batter in the world. His exceptional ability to thrive in the diverse and often harsh conditions of SENA countries—South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia—has firmly established him as one of the greats of contemporary Test cricket. As India takes on Australia in the five-match series, which began on November 22 in Perth, Jasprit Bumrah will be India’s go-to bowler. Therefore, let’s take a look at his records in SENA countries and beyond the Asian conditions.

Jasprit Bumrah best spell vs Australia

Virat Kohli’s team sought to take the series lead at the MCG in December 2018 following a crushing loss in Perth. Australia’s batting was completely destroyed by India, who scored 443/7 with Jasprit Bumrah taking 6/33. By taking important wickets like Tim Paine and Marcus Harris, he helped India win by 137 runs and take a 1-0 series lead.

Jasprit Bumrah top spell vs England

In August 2021, during his second Test tour of England, Jasprit Bumrah began India’s five-match series with a stellar nine-wicket haul. He dismantled the English batting on Day 1, claiming 4/46 and giving India a 95-run first innings lead. Bumrah followed up with 5/64 in the second innings, dismissing Dom Sibley, Zak Crawley, Joe Root, Sam Curran, and Stuart Broad, alongside Mohammed Siraj, to lead India’s charge at Trent Bridge.

Jasprit Bumrah best spell vs New Zealand

Bumrah has played only Test two matches in New Zealand with total of six wickets in the Kiwis land. He has the best spell of 5/ 101 in a match.

Bumrah best spell vs South Africa

In the January 2022 Cape Town Test against South Africa, Jasprit Bumrah made an early impact, removing both openers, including Dean Elgar, and later dismissing Keegan Petersen with a brilliant delivery. Bumrah finished with 5/42 in 23.3 overs, marking his second five-wicket haul in South Africa. However, despite his efforts, India lost as South Africa successfully chased down the target.
